AKP Gifts Border Control to Terror Groups
The Turkish AKP government’s Syria policies have endangered the security of Turkey. Public officials working at border gates in the region have stated that the borders have come under the control of terrorists.
Turkey’s borders are under the control of terrorists
A public official who spoke to Aydınlık newspaper said “We are now in a much worse position compared to this time last year. The border regions are under the control of armed groups. We are giving support to terrorist groups. Additionally most of them have no relationship with Syria. They are professional militants.” Refik Eryılmaz, the Hatay member of parliament from Turkey’s main opposition party the CHP, made an announcement on the issue:
“From the start, there has been positive discrimination against the terrorist groups. No operations are being conducted against those committing crimes. In the region from Hatay to the Iraqi border, a large number of explosions and attacks have occurred but facts about these events have been suppressed and covered up.”
AKP Government are ‘stuck in the mud’
Eryılmaz, speaking about the Turkey’s border gates that are open to Syria, said “In the city of Hatay on the Turkish border to Syria there are two checkpoints. However, a curious situation is occurring at the border checkpoints. The official checkpoints are closed, but the unofficial checkpoints are open. On the opposite side to the Yayladağ border checkpoint there are officials. The government closed this checkpoint. On the Syrian side of Cilvegözü there are hostiles, that checkpoint is open. Citizens are being directed to the checkpoints that are in the hands of the terrorist groups because the secure checkpoints are shut. Lives are being endangered. It is not possible to understand why the government are following these procedures. Its like the government are stuck in a swamp. The more they stir, the more they sink into the mud.”
